Marbella

marbella

There may be something to the conversation, because Marbella definitely has a lot of exclusive things to offer. Not least the area in the ‘Golden Mile’, along the beach west of the city, is full of luxurious villas and gorgeous penthouses, exclusive clubs and fine restaurants. This is truly a piece of exclusive and almost ostentatious Marbella, stretching all the way to the even more opulent marina ‘Puerto Banús’.

But Marbella is more than that. Much more. The beautiful Mediterranean city, located at the foot of the beautiful ‘Sierra Blanca’ mountains, also has a completely different face: namely a Marbella that welcomes the ordinary guest and tourist to a charming Mediterranean city, with a cosmopolitan touch that has so much to offer the visitor – regardless of whether you are traveling as a couple, family or have come to settle.

Kilometers of clean and delicious sandy beaches are open to everyone and attract all types of tourists to the area. The promenade along the coast – ‘Paseo Marítimo’ – is a wonderful place to stroll along the sea, soak up the atmosphere – or to enjoy the small beach bars and ‘chiringuitos’. Marbella’s old town – ‘Casco Antiguo’ – surprises most, with its cozy and winding streets, beautiful flower decorations and intimate Andalusian atmosphere.

If you are traveling as a family with children, there are plenty of offers for the little ones. As for example at ‘Funny Beach’, where those who like to play are offered both a go-kart track, trampoline jumping, electric cars and other fun activities – as well as for example ‘Aventura Amazonia’ in Elviria, where you can whiz through the forest on cable cars. Marbella is for the whole family, and it is easy to find lovely and practical apartments and holiday homes of all sizes.

The city has several beautiful parks and squares – ‘plazas’ – that offer both a peaceful place in the shade on hot summer days, or cultural activities all year round. Here there are theatres, cinemas, markets, fine museums and, not least, the large international ‘Starlite Festival’, which every year houses some of the world’s best-known musical names, in the large, open amphitheater just north of the city.

Those who like to shop can find small and slightly different shops that you won’t find anywhere else on the coast, and the city’s multicultural and cosmopolitan atmosphere means that you can find all kinds of good gastronomy and exciting food experiences wherever you go – and in all price ranges. Of course, there is also a wide range of cafes, bars and nightlife for those who want to get a taste of city life.

So you can choose to let the prejudices about the city fall to the ground, and turn it all a little on its head: Marbella is for everyone, and what you are looking for – you can find it in this beautiful, vibrant and varied city. And that regardless of whether you are an oil sheik from Oman, a dentist from Tottenham – or a butcher from Slagelse.
